Happy Perfect Picture Book Friday, dear friends!
I’ve been blogging a bit less in the last couple of weeks, but when I received this book in the mail, I knew I had to share it with you today. I’m a fan of anything written by Miranda Paul and this book is cowritten by her husband, Baptiste, whose debut picture book, THE FIELD, just launched earlier this year!

- Love the content – amazingly personal stories of children on their way to school PLUS so much history and culture is included.
- Love the illustrations – bold, bright, and filled with heart.
- This is a perfect book for kids who want to/need to learn about cultures around the world.

I look forward to reading Miranda and Baptiste Paul’s important book. We need more books like this in the classrooms that show the determination for kids from other cultures to get a precious education. This would pair nicely with “The Way to School,” by Second Story Press.

I just checked out a book about the many ways children celebrate birthdays around the world. This book would seem to be a perfect companion to read next.

I can’t wait to read this book! My library didn’t have it, so there is a place I can suggest books to purchase (I LOVE this new discovery). I requested it and it fit with their guidelines so they are ordering it! I will be first to get it. Yay! If everyone did this, request new books for the library, we could get some great literature out for our little readers!
