    • Thanks, Tracy…I was trying to post the 9News clip on YouTube…but it posted it here…and I feel badly because my post yesterday had the link…I don’t want people to get sick of this…but, on the other hand, it is a topic that needs to be aired MUCH more often.
I really appreciate your kind words…yes, now everyone knows what I sound like. 🙂

    • Yes, you are so right…this is a topic that is mentioned…and policies are written…and then, unfortunately, the incidents are ignored in many cases. This is a DANGEROUS situation…parents and teachers need to join forces to help the kids…both the victims and the bullies.
Glad you thought the tips were valuable…I hope to share this message in other venues.

      • You did a wonderful job! I wrote a post last fall about bullying of gay teens… I just couldn’t sleep that night, after reading about another suicide. As a former (and always) social worker, these things just get under my skin and yank on all of my strings. I wish this kind of thing was aired all over… those were such good points, and so clearly laid out. Again, nice job Vivian!

  1. Wow! Look at you on TV! You are so brave 🙂 Great job! Of course I enjoyed hearing what you had to say, but I enjoyed even more getting to see and hear you since we’ve only ever talked by blog comment and email! 🙂

    • How funny you are. 🙂  Watching the clip on the computer when I got home, I almost couldn’t believe it was ME.  I was pretty happy with how it came across…not preachy/teachy…but concerned/approachable/knowledgeable…I hope, I hope, I hope. 🙂 Thanks, Susanna…for your encouragement. 🙂  It’s a topic people need to bring out into the light so they can act on it!

    • Wow!  What perfect timing…will you post anything about the assembly on your blog…I’d love to know what schools are saying to kids…and how they are going about eradicating bullying.  Thanks for your kind words, Erik…glad you enjoyed the broadcast. 🙂

      • Hi Ms. Kirkfield! I wasn’t planning a post but the school had a magician come to the school and talk to us about bullying. He was really great. He did magic tricks and told us how to handle bullies and how not to be a bully.

  2. Wonderful tips, Vivian. I am actually more than thrilled to see you in this short interview. I wish they have made it even longer because parents will surely learn more from you. It’s so nice to hear your voice! let me share this in my blog as I especially know one mom that has a son who is possible getting bullied at school.

Thank you for this wonderful insight!

    • That would be fantastic, Marilou!  I do hope that the more we talk about this topic, the more aware parents and teachers will be of what they should do and how they can help kids.  No one should EVER have to put up with bullies…and the bullies need help as well…they are unhappy people who are stepping on others in hopes of feeling better about themselves. So glad you were pleased with what you saw…and if I ever come to Europe and knock on your door…you will know who it is and won’t turn me away. 🙂 🙂
