With a lyrical quality to her writing, Vivian Kirkfield has written a beautiful story of friendship between two iconic personalities, Ella Fitzgerald and Marilyn Monroe. They were different in many ways, but they both had the same hopes and dreams. The author piques curiosity by giving readers a bit of background information about each woman. Ella Fitzgerald wanted to share her music with the world, and Marilyn Monroe hoped to become a great actress. How did these two women forge a life-long friendship? Thank you so much for stopping by and I’m so glad you are excited for this book…I think many of us are fans of both Ella and Marilyn…I was, too…and that’s why I was so intrigued when I found the photo and read about what happened. And when I dug deeper, I knew I had to write the story.

    • Happy you loved the review and feel it is a compelling story. I hope that teachers and librarians will get on board…the universal truth of standing up for friends and for what is right is definitely waht we want to share with kids in grades K=6…and the book is written in a simple enough way that young kids will ‘get’ it.
