Happy Perfect Picture Book Friday, dear friends!
As a lover of libraries, I’m a sucker for any picture book that has a library theme. And so, when I saw this one that just launched THIS WEEK, I knew I wanted to turn the spotlight on it. Plus, the author and publisher are providing a brand new copy as a giveaway! Woo-Hoo!! And the author, Carolyn Leiloglou, will be stopping by to visit with us tomorrow for a Q&A…and you won’t want to miss her amazing dessert recipe!
LIBRARY’S MOST WANTED
Written by Carolyn Leiloglou
Illustrated by Sarah Pogue
Published by Pelican Publishing (2020)
Ages: 4-8
Themes: Librarians, reading, ingenuity
Synopsis: From Amazon:
Libby longs to be a great librarian like her aunt Nora, and it just chaps her hide when kids vandalize books. She hangs up Wanted posters to drive the “outlaws” from her “territory.” But when she realizes that a librarian’s real job isn’t protecting books but connecting them with readers, she must find a way to lure them back.
Why I love this book:
- It’s all about developing a love for books and reading…a subject very close to my heart.
- And it’s also about learning to care for others, because as important as books might be, people are even more important.
- Great illustrations that engage the reader from the first page to the last.
- Wonderful cowboy word play that helps give the reader a flavor of the old West.

I grew up without a library in my small hometown. I was always hungry for books. So this book appeals to me now as a writer.
