Happy Perfect Picture Book Friday, dear friends. Kids love stories about dogs. And they love stories about new babies coming home. Author Shanna Silva combined both of those themes and came up with a winner! And one of you is also going to be a winner…because there is going to be a giveaway of this wonderful book!

A DOG’S GUIDE TO BEING HUMAN
Written by Shanna Silva
Illustrated by Agnes Ernoult
Published by Yeehoo Press (2022)
Ages: 4-7
Themes: Humor, new baby, dogs
Synopsis: From Amazon:
A hilarious and heartwarming picture book sharing a dog’s hard-earned wisdom about living a happy life.
My humans have brought home a tiny baby. It is up to me to teach her how to fit in!
Smudge has a new family member: a baby girl. And he has a LOT to teach her about fitting in with the humans. Like don’t drink from the toilet (the humans don’t like it). But DO share your snacks (especially with Smudge). And make as many friends as you can–yes, even the occasional cat. There’s so much to go through, but as Smudge knows, it’s every good dog’s job to welcome home their family.
From author Shanna Silva and illustrator Agnès Ernoult comes a hilarious and heartwarming picture book sharing a dog’s hard-earned wisdom about living a happy life. Hand this book to all animal lovers and growing families!
Why I Love This Book:
1. Humor, humor, humor…this book is really funny…kids will love it…and so will adults who are asked to read it!
2. I love stories that kids can relate to…many children experience new babies coming home…many children have dogs…and I love that we see the child growing up as we turn the pages.
3. The illustrations are truly wonderful! The expressions on the child AND on the dog are priceless!
Here’s a little bit about author Shanna Silver:
Shanna is an author and Award Winning Broadway Producer. She’s written three picture books for children (so far): Passover Scavenger Hunt (Kar-Ben, 2017), Hannah’s Hanukkah Hiccups (Apples & Honey Press, 2018) and A Dog’s Guide to Being Human (Yeehoo Press, 2022). She’s also written 45 hi/lo books for the educational market.
Sometimes, Shanna also writes for grown ups. Her work appears in the parenting blog, Kveller.com, Bella Magazine, Twins Magazine, in the anthologies Multiples Illuminated I and II, and Chicken Soup for the Soul.
She belongs to SCBWI and is a founding member of The Book Meshuggenahs, a collaborative marketing and promotional group of Jewish female authors.
And when she’s not writing, she’s probably hanging out with her sheepadoodle puppy, Drake.

Thank you Vivian for one more Happy Friday.
Shanna, you are amazing using humor in your writings. I am sure that children and adults will be delighted reading your book.
I remember my kids being so attracted to toilet water, seeing their dog happily slurping it. I am glad that Smudge is going to take care of it.
