Happy Pefect Picture Book Friday, dear friends!
Lots of people are happy when Friday comes because it signals the end of the work week for many – although these days, I’m not sure if that is as meaningful as it used to be. However, for me, Friday is a very happy day because I get to share a great new picture book with you! Today’s featured story, which launches in a few days, has already garnered STARRED REVIEWS! And one lucky person will win a copy, thanks to the author, the lovely Gabi Snyder. So please make sure you leave a comment.
TWO DOGS ON A TRIKE
Written by Gabi Snyder
Illustrated by Robin Rosenthal
Published by Abrams (May 19, 2020)
Ages: 0-6
Themes: Counting, Dogs, Transportation
Synopsis: From Amazon:
One by one, each dog escapes its yard and joins the adventure in this hilarious counting story. Vehicle-obsessed readers will love seeing all the modes of transportation that the pups use—until the family cat decides to round them all up to go back home.
Gabi Snyder’s charming text and Robin Rosenthal’s delightful illustrations are a surefire combination in this winning picture book.
Starred Reviews:
This fur-raising one-to-10-and-back-again counting book perfectly captures the rollicking, manic joy of dogs off the leash. – Kirkus
Why I love this book:
- Cars/trains/planes…kids love them! Dogs and a persnickity cat…kids love them also! The rhyme is so much fun and flows off the tongue easily!
- Wonderful count up and count down…little ones are learning math and they don’t even know it!
- Hilarious illustrations…you will LOVE the modernistic dogs – color palette is bold and kid-friendly!

Love math books and go Gabi. My most unusual form of transport would have been a pet sheep with a chariot behind it :-).

It was soooo scary…especially since I don’t swim. But I was a LOT younger…it was back in the 1980’s. And it was a thrill to have you on my blog, Gabi!
